Happy New Years! Did everyone successfully bid the past 365 days adieu?
This year we decided to send out 2015 with a New Years Brunch party. These are my favorite type of gatherings to host because they’re a super easy way to hang out among friends minus the massive amounts of work that are entailed with a normal party. You provide the space and a few quick bites; everyone else fills in the gaps and brings the post Christmas cheer.
The main dish that our family contributed was a roasted pork shoulder (ok two shoulders).
Add a little flavor, cook them up, shred and place in a crock pot. Serve with some rolls and Bam. Done. I also put together a few desserts just because I’m a sweet type of person. 🙂
Including a pile of muffins. Lemon poppyseed and carrot cake. I have SOOO many of these left over. Please feel free to stop by and grab a plateful if you’re in the neighborhood.
And…. a make your own yogurt bar. Because every party needs a little something healthy. There may or may not have been a make your own bloody mary and mimosa bar as well.
Just sayin’.
Tomato and orange juice. Surely that’s healthy right?
Finally, you can’t have a New Years party with a place to state your resolution. Check.
All in all, it was a true party success. Now we can look forward to a relaxing weekend followed by the official “sending of the hooligans children” back to school on Monday with a silent sigh of relief.
If all goes well, I should have a new home post up later next week. I’m working feverishly to finish one last piece before I share it all with you! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. If you’d like any of the recipes I used for our brunch, I’m tossing up the links below.
